Just a name?

How different my name looks when written in Arabic...lots of curves in English ... but in Arabic ... lines ... looks different...like a different person...although it's the same "Me"... but does a name really say who you are? I dunno... but I can't imagine myself being called anything else... I guess in a way it blends into who we are with time...

Try writing your name in both languages and have a good look at it... tell me what you see ;-)

PS. Was talking about my real name ... not "Me" ;-)

I am used to see it in english more than arabic, you know the emails, documents at work etc. What I hate about it in arabic is that not all the letters are connected to each other. Also sometimes I try to write it to look symmertrical or take some shapes etc.

I have no idea how to write my name in Arabic...Someone once wrote it for me and it looked soo cool! It didn't look like me because she did not take the time to explain anything about it...It just looked like a symbol of me, not a representation.

I found myself more in the Arabic version. Reason being it is connected and not loose.. I enjoy connectivity, u know what i mean? Staying in one peice. Anything in genereal in one piece gives me a sense of security and confidence. In English there is also the cursive way of writing, but i still feel the Arabic is the origin of connectivity somehow.

About names and who we are.. hmm well that needs thought, and for now i am too tired to think about taht one.. I need to go deep in things and somethings already are deeply embedded like what i wrote above.. Miss u me.

Nesreen,
See? Quite different ey?

Rain,
yeah... me too

Tarek,
I'm also used to seeing my name in English a lot more than in Arabic...

Dalulla,
But the first 2 letters in your name when written in Arabic aren't connected... right?
And btw ... I love the way the Arabic script looks ... just that I don't write my name in Arabic that often...
